Cowpoke Racing has announced that it will be temporarily moving its headquarters to Southern California for the next 9-18 months. The exact location will be somewhere in the vicinity of Santa Monica as that's where the Chief Messmaker of Cowpoke Racing will be working in his "day job" as an International Man of Mystery striking voodoo deals with global instigators of friendliness and communication. The move will begin in two weeks and should be completed by the end of September. All previously scheduled Cowpoke Racing events, including the Concorso Italiano and Monterey Historic weekend will continue as planned.

Welcome to LA / update us with your address to connect

TJ,
Welcome to the land of cereal: fruits, nuts and flakes. We will send you a dictionary to begin speaking LA lingo!

That sounds like a nightmare pairing , just think what could happen if you put TJ and Paul together on a project, thinking about it it might be pretty cool!
TJ want to take my csi down there so Overhauling can steal it for a week, I think Chip Foose isn't crazy enough to do a e9 on his show

be good

Congrats, and good luck on your new ventures. Hopefully you will not be too busy to post once a day.

Once you are settled I am thinking of a Nor Cal contingency taking 101/1 for a meet up in SB?

Moving south--get out of LA--or Santa Monica ASAP--

Otherwise you'll miss out--get up really early on Saturday morning to experience the trek to Crystal Cove--Newport Beach's weekly happening--plan to be there by 0630 to get desirable parking as the "word is out" about this happening--

You'll think your're in Hog Heaven--but surrounded by hardware of every type that rolls on wheels--including antique--old--new and newest of just about every variety given a reasonable period of time

This last Saturday the man who had organized and put on the Modesto Concours d'elgance for several years visited for the first time and his comment--"every week you guys have a free car show that rivals just about anything in the world and usually those only happen once per year"

I was thinking the same thing- another Crystal Cove regular

Look forward to meeting you. Also, if anyone needs/wants Concorso Tickets, I've got gold and regular for dirt cheap to coupsters!

Shawn;

Great idea. I say we do a drive down the coast and help TJ set the tone with his neighbors by holding a Coupe Wrench-Fest/BBQ in his front yard!!!

I am there!!!

Should I bring my paint rig?

We'll have to get together to do a Doggies Do the Beach at the Huntington Beach dog beach. My Chihuahua will first have to serve up a little whoop-ass on your Labs so they know their place.
Maybe it's just me, but being born and raised it SoCal, I can say with all honesty that if I could afford it, I would move to NoCal in a heartbeat. Welcome to La Ciudad de Infierno.

Chihuahuas? My dogs think that's another word for "chew toy".

In all seriousness, thanks for all the well-wishes. It will be an adventure for us on many fronts. This move is only temporary however. We're keeping our place in Los Gatos and expect to be back here in 9-18 months. Despite Kramer's comments about LA, "she's a seductress, she's a mistress she's a whore", we will come back to our home and mountain greenery sometime in the not too distant future.

Sadly, one of the things I'll likely have to give up is my ability to wrench at all. I don't expect we'll find a place that meets all our criteria and has a garage, so most likely the CSL will stay here in NorCal.

At least I'll have an opportunity to get my surfing chops back. One day after paddling out in to another set of 58 degree, shark and seaweed infested Santa Cruz closeouts I said "f&#$ this" and hung up my wetsuit. 65 degree beach breaks are things I've only dreamt about since then.

check the water temperatures!

Not 65- but get this- 75 degree water here off San Diego. I've already forgotten about Hawaiian water temperatures. Plus the surf has been decent for summertime. Welcome to the southland. Put the wetsuit away and get some new trunks!
