Not sure if this has been discussed before.....
I just had the CS windows tinted with 3M Crystaline window tint.
It is truly amazing stuff!
My buddy had his '02 done a couple month's ago and I was really impressed with how much cooler his car was. The interior temperature difference on the CS is VERY noticeable. It's 97 degrees here right now and I could run with the air/con off of the maximum setting and be very comfortable...
3M claims it blocks something like 40% of the infrared radiation and 99.9% of UV. Check it out...I'm a believer!

Technology to the rescue!

Thanks for sharing...at some point I will get the AC working in my coupe again and I expect it will need all the help it can get. I have the parts already set aside for the heater bypass mod that Rob Siegel posted.

Timely post. It's been well over 100F in most of LA this week.

Looks like this stuff comes in clear too which means you can treat the front window without worrying about getting a ticket.

Not all shops will do the windshield... It's technically illegal in CA. If you hunt around you can find one that will though....

interesting

considering that almost all the top of the car (from the waist line up), is glass, this film is very interesting

can you describe how is the installing process ? is it a sort of selfadhesive material ? is it installed in the interior face of the glass ? do they need to dissasemble the glases or they do it directly as they are mounted in the car ?

regards

But please be aware of local regulations before getting any tinting. Here in Hawaii, there is a 35% transmittance limit and it is tested every year. Also, tinting more than the top four (?) inches of the windshield is prohibited. Your local regulations may vary.
