Hi all,

Does anyone know where in the world I can get my hands on some nice new leather seat covers for a CS coupe (with head restraint covers) ?

My (UK spec) 2800 CS doesn't have the head restraints and the driver's seat is broken anyway so I've got some later 3.0 CS seats in sound condition for recovering.

I'm also after a decent used driver's side (on a UK car) wood door capping so any help with this would be great too.

Thanks,

David.

Here in the States, any competent automotive upholsterer can stitch up a set of seat upholstery, matching the pattern of the old ones.

Yes, you can buy pre-sewn upholstery from GAHH, World, and others. But these have two disadvantages:

- You won't know the exact shade of the leather until it arrives. It may not match your rear seats. At least when you are looking at swatches at the upholsterer's shop, you can compare them with the rear seats.

- Assuming you are going to have an upholsterer install your pe-sewn covers, you will find that upholsterer's HATE to have to work with someone else's product. You will end up with something with wrinkles and puckers, and get the excuse that the (*&(&^ kit you supplied didn't fit for %$##%^& !!!

If you have an upholsterer, you should definitely talk to them before buying any "kit". A local guy I have used would only work with GAHH stuff.

Hmmm the costs I'm getting back for retrims here in the UK are £2500 - £3000.

Does anyone know any good trimmers who are based in countries in the European Union such as Poland etc. ? I'm thinking of saving costs by sending the seats there instead - I even heard of one guy who had his seats re-done in morrocco for £400!

Thanks
