CSL Door Mechanism - Light weight or not light weight that is the question

I seam to have two different types of door mechanism (the bit that the outside handle attaches to)
One has a weight to it and the other does not

I’m not sure if the one without the weight is the light weight version for the car (CSL) – or the weight has dropped off when it went to zinc plating

Its the bit that has felt on it....

Can anyone help

Yes +1, both my door locks have this 'counterweight'

The weights have a tendency to fall off. I've read it on here before.
(Note that just my knowledge does not exclude that csl's may have been made without, I'm no CSL expert)
