csl front strut brace

Hi,

Upon trying to fit the walloth and nesch front struct brace it would appear that on the csl the underbonnet light and bonnet stay holder do not allow the brace to be fitted without contact. Indeed even if I remove both of these I have a feeling that the brace will touch the firewall. Has anyone else had similar problems?

I had to remove the under bonnet light switch and bracket. The strut brace does indeed run right along the firewall. It is close, but it fits.

Where does your bonnet stay sit? Just behind the bar?

Bonnet stay? I assume you're referring to the little tab that is normally held to the firewall with a screw? It's gone. No room for it with the strut brace. I assumed it was only a shut foff for the bonnet light switch.

Wow............I'd forgotten all about this thread. My bonnet prop rod lays along the top of the strut brace. It doesn't lay completely flat but it doesn't cause any problems with the hood and of course once it's closed, you can't see it. Outta sight outta mind.

Thanks TJ, I'm thinking of puttin gin the W&N brace that I have but was also thinking of trying to find a neeter version which might allow the bonnet light and stay bar to remain as they are.
