Question! how many bmw e9 csl were born with the aluminum fuel door ??? on real oem this replacement brings it only in other material and the reference number is the same for both 2500cs as well as for all csl I thank

I think all CS coupes got the aluminium fuel door. At least my CSi got one.

i have not checked it but considering that the hinge is made in the same part, it seems reasonable to think that it can not be steel...IMHO

My extremely limited periodic table knowledge suggests Al is number 13, no matter how you spell it. That said, while Al is a likely employed material, some have described the subject door's composition as two often overlooked substitutes for element 13, i.e., "pot metal" or recycled carburetor castings - and a pinch of body filler, neither of which seem to exhibit -- um -- rust.:confused:
