Ok the picture is small....but what is it I like about this?

I think it is the black/black combo (wheels) and smooth clean look. The chunky tires probably add to the 'effect'

I like it too, but (without looking for another image of the actual race CSLs) it seems this rendition is lower to the ground than actual, and the tire size exaggerated.

I present you with the car you just described. :) This is my desktop wallpaper btw. Love the Stella e9.

This is my desktop. The car that started my love affair with BMWs over 40 years ago. Then reunited at Laguna Seca in August 2016, pic by Peter Coomaraswamy. The Calder car is the same CSL that Hans Stuck got famously airborne on the Nurburgring, we all know that picture.

My good friend Joe Rodriguez has a tribute street legal Stella Group 5 3.5 CSL in BMW Works trim with an S38 built by Jack Derrin. The car is an absolute blast, it's so fast and sure footed.

I saw the Calder car at Amelia, it has a jedi-like aura about it. Couldnt stop looking at it.

Cool car! It must turn heads at cars & coffee. Joe has some good youtube videos that walk through the details...

Great follow-ups on this thread :)

This could also be a thread about best BMW screen savers .... & I agree (BMW art car = magnificence on wheels)
