Maybe this should be somewhere else or it has been posted while I've been up country but it is interesting in it's focus on earned patina as evidence of historic DNA. I thought it was great.

The car just needed some rust. Wondering if the mechanicals had patina too?

In the late 70's when I was going to UCLA I often found myself down at Vasek's BMW dealership in the southbay getting parts for my 2002. One afternoon when there the head of the parts department asked me if I would care to go a few blocks away and tour Vasek's storage buildings which contained his race cars, parts, etc.

For a BMW guy this was like getting a glimpse of heaven! We spent 2 hours looking at everything in there - BMWs, Porsches, and several other makes of race cars!

This car was in there and at that time it also looked like it had been campaigned hard!

Unfortunately, this car also left the track at Laguna Seca when forced off course in turn three. Here is what it looked like after a shunt with the wall!

Is the the actual Sebring car from 1975?

This is a link to a photo of the Stuck Posey Car at Sebring in 1975. Seems to suggest that the livery of the Vasek Polek car is not the same as it was raced in 1975. I am a little confused. Same car as raced by Stuck and Posey, or not?
