Hi, as part of the ongoing restoration of "Red Dragon" (named by my kids after Will Ferrell's Camaro in movie "Old School"), I've had a pair of rear arch repair panels let in.

As you can see from the pics, I'm still at the primer stage but a trial fit of the wheelarch spats shows 10-15mm of exposed wheelarach lip. ie the covers don't cover the inside edge as much as I expected.

When I compare to the fronts, which are original (or certainly pre-'85), the covers comletely cover the inner lip. The difference seems to be that the fronts have a lip of about 15mm wheras the rears its about 30mm.

Now I can tweak the covers a little, or grind off some of the rear lip but before I do that I'd welcome comments from anyone who's experienced similar. Anyone got any photos of how much coverage they're getting ?

Thanks, Rich

My car is pretty similar - when you attach the wheelarch you should push it inwards with a fair bit of force - i.e. it will cover more of the wheelarch return lip than it is by just being taped up. Yes the fronts get covered completely also.

Where are you based?

Rohan

Thanks Rohan, I'm just outside Bristol, near where M4 and M5 meet.

Even with a fair bit of force I still have significant underlap (is that a word ?). I can get pretty good alignment at front and trailing edges, but from about 10 O'Clock thru to about 2 O'Clock positions I still have a decent strip of wheelarch lip showing.

It may be completely normal, or may be a result of repair panels being wrogn dimensions. But interested in other members cars in case a little "persuasion" is required to get them to line up as per the fronts...
