I dont mean to step to anyone. I just want to share my resources to everyone in this forum. If this would offend any seller I can just keep it to myself. A member was kind enough to lend me a new unused CSL decal set. I have someone locally who is very experienced in making decals for exotic cars to copy them exactly using 3M film and custom them to either 3.0 / 3.5 CSI or CSL. Price including shipping in the USA is $160 or $150 if I can get more than 10 orders. I can post photos once its installed in my car after it gets sanded and polished. Please be patient and dont send payments till I test and see the quality of the decals in my own car first. :D

Update:

This GB is close.

Id rather be not accused of making profit for passing the savings.

Thanks to our good friend DP.

These are already available from Cameron Holliday in Canada, Carl Nelson in La Jolla CA, Dan Koturov in CO, as well as other multiple "usual sources"

Bullshit weasel language if you were to ask me (I know, you didn't ask)

"Thanks for the info" ??? You already knew that knocking these off when they're already available is just a great way to piss off the people who have been supporting availability of parts for our cars for years. So what possessed you to do so, knowing you'd likely hear back about it?

Personally, I think its one thing to get some knockoffs for yourself at "a savings" ... if the 40 or 50 bucks savings is really so important to a high-dollar hobbiest (like yourself?), but puHLEASE don't masquerade yourself as offering "savings to all"...will your supplier really do a one-off of these for 160? You need a group buy, right? And are you really claiming to do this at no profit for yourself? gee.... wanna sell your stepnose or another porsche or any of the other cars you snap up and clean and flip at cost? I didn't think so. Has your supplier already delivered stripe kits that are as well-done as those that are already available? Are they as nice as the ones Cam worked up and are offered by the various suppliers that (I'll say it again) support our E9 hobby interest? Why wouldn't you want to support them? More to the point, just cause you enthusiastically post a few fotos of checkbook auto jobs, is that a reason to support you?

My last set of stripes came from Cam. The next set will come from Carl. I don't know you from adam, so even if you offer the brooklyn bridge for 50 bucks, I'll stick with a reputable bridge seller

You sound like a very disturbed man Dale. What seems to be your problem? This is not the first time you and I have this encounter. Honestly in the entire forum its only you I get all this negative vibes. Is it because I never entertained you when you where interested in both of my cars for sale? No one is forced to buy decals from me and I dont do this for a living nor for profit. Does it look like I need the profit? Maybe you but not me for sure. Bro I have and own over a dozen show quality cars and I dont think it could be supported by nickles and dimes. And yes my supplier will do one set for $160. Talking about support. Does it looks like I make parts for my cars in my backyard? Most of them came from supporters of this forum. Honestly this forum is such a great forum besides people like you. I just offered my help that might benefit others and not to open a business. Dont be a hater buddy  Also read my post. As I stated for me to try and see the quality first before anyone orders. And regarding knockoffs anything made without a BMW part # is a knockoff. If your willing to pay $300 than $160 then thats your business. No worries I will close this thread just for you. Also yes you dont know me :D And trust me I would not need your business nor support at this lifetime.

Hmmmn,

Whoda thunk?

IMHO, I thought more sources for parts, and even decals supplied with a bit of innovation, was a testament to the capitalism we all love. Clearly such resto workarounds has been the hallmark of coupes, and classics all over.

Especially with coupes, we need all the help we can get...

Now, if I could only find that pair of elusive bumpers I'm looking for without going Maximillian bankrupt...LOL!!

Back it up a bit dale , dude you are making chic look like a santa cruz lefty liberal lesbian. :? This is still a free market right ? If we take the time to collect parts / stuff is it wrong to pass them on at a profit, I think not. I try to roll my stuff over at a marginal profit(I may have made a $100 so far) . Alvin is tring to help some coupsters out here, none off the guys you've mentioned are going to go bankrupt over 10 stripe kits and if they are they are in bigger trouble. sorry dude you got me on a bad day,48 hrs to the start of the uk trip

PJ, the brick and mortar guys need every sale, or they go away. Period.

For me, that means if I sell something I never undercut them price-wise. Such an approach to sharing bits with their other customers means I keep dealer relations on a friendly basis. At the least those guys who work to support all of us remain friendly acquaintances that I am not posturing to compete with regardless of the scale of "competition."

With a free market there is no obligation to silently stand back and watch whatever transpires, and there is just as much freedom to keep long-standing suppliers available to OUR hobby as there is for eager fans to jump in on the action. I am under no obligation to blithely buy into some dumbass humanitarian excuse for a group buy.
Now Alvin is just as entitled to indulge in public name-calling as the next guy, but he's also just as entitled to a critique of any motive especially when he chooses to claim an altruistic one I may not lock-step buy into the stated motives any more than I am obligated to participate in said (now closed) group buy. But, freedom to speak my mind is part of the free trade system also.

Alvin, altruism aside, if you're closing your group-buy on MY account, that thin skin of yours to be a liability in your chosen hobby, even if/especially when you so very clearly want to help people. Are the Alfa and Porsche people any gentler?

Thanks dp-
I really wanted to buy that set and it was actually affordable for me. Now I will go without.

Thanks!@$#%

I guess I am at a loss here...someone might provide a product at a cheaper price...so what is the issue? How do you think all the other venders started at one time? Look at some of those selling Alpina wheels aftermarket....I would welcome as many venders as possible to keep prices affordable and perhaps keep the existing venders honest. Think about it next time someone complains about some of our parts costing too much...
Afterall, last time I checked this is a free country....I think.

IMHO

Funny. I grew up in the UK in the 70s and I though that was as much communism as you could find without jumping over the iron curtain. Turns out, the real refuge of the last marxists is right in the heart of E9land.

Atan, please don´t let the trolls haunt you. I appreciate what you are doing in every respect.

Dale as you know the E9 or BMW are not my only cars. I belong to a few forums as well specially Rennlist (Porsche). We as enthusiast helps each other as much as we could not for profit nor personal gain but to keep the community alive. I honestly never encountered someone like you. You are a very self centered narrow minded man. You always think people have bad motives when actually we have good intentions. I am not here to kill other peoples business by selling decals. I was simply sharing my source. Its so obvious there is a big difference between 160 and 300. I also see you accused me of flipping cars for profit. Cars are my hobby and its not my problem if I buy a few and keep the best. Why? Because I can afford too. Now I dont think anything is wrong with that as long as its not coming from your bank account. Yes porsche people are gentler I cant speak for Alfa folks since Im also new to thier scene. I rest my case and yes with your horrible comments Id rather keep my source and savings to myself. If you have any further questions I believe you have my phone number since you have inquired once to the 2000cs that Evan was trying to sell which you claimed was junk.(remember)
