Hi Mark. I think I’ve seen your. Did you go to an ACE cafe thing a couple of years ago ? I was there with a US E28 M5. Anyway. It looks perfect. Thanks for the info. I’ll make contact later. M

Thought so. Remember your car. I would like purchase tear ducktail with rubber tip please. Don’t suppose you can get them painted ? Mines Verona. Drop me a text on 07789 220482 with BACS details M

Hi Martin, no problem with the spoiler but the painting has to be done by a paintshop when fitted to the car, they will need to bond it and possibly screw it on once they have lined it all up.. when thats done the boot lid will need to be painted at the same time for a perfect fit and finish. it needs to be trial fitted correctly before you fit the rubber edge then fit finally

you could paint it first and fix it after as they did when new but you will still need to bond and screw it down which i think is not so satisfying. plus you will see fixings

this is my boot lid once fitted and painted and I think this is how it should be

are you ok with this?

thanks

Mark

Hi Alejandro, flyer with prices attached in £ Sterling. The rubber edge has bolts set in the rubber so it will bolt to the fibreglass part but you can bond too if required. ship a single unit to the USA is around £65.00

thanks

Awesome Mark
Last question do you also have the following part?
+ Roof hoop with brackets and center support

I did not see that one in the flyer

Thank you again

Try Jaymic.
I bought Roof Hoop from them about 3 months ago, but returned it
because I told that it would'nt really suit a CDSi, and that its strictly the CSL's.

Thanks

Roof hoops aren’t my thing but “strictly CSL” is a highly subjective claim. Last I checked BMW made these parts to address aerodynamics and not asthetics. The CSI benefits from these improvements just the same as a CSL. Likewise, the only CSL’s that “should” have a hoop are batmobiles. We all know that isn’t the case.

For those suggesting screwing on the spoilers, it's really not necessary. There are extremely good auto adhesives these days (Eg Sikaflex) so unless it is a track car, I think glue and double sided tape is sufficient. Mine is super secure without screws (which I wouldn't want to put through my alloy boot-lid anyway). Mine is an original CSL fibreglass spoiler so is very light... I assume the Daddywad ones are also light enough to just stick on.

Great stuff. Exactly what I thought. Can you remember the exact products you used ?

The spoilers have long front edge so industrial quality 3M double sided tape goes all along that and along the side and bottom edge.

And a dab of Sikaflex auto trim adhesive on each of the 5 metal brackets where they touch the boot-lid

(This is what the underside of my CSL spoiler looked like)
