Just a reflection.

I noticed that Edvard Munch's work of art "The Scream" was sold yesterday at Sotheby's in New York. The hammer price was 119,9 million USD.

Munch painted four versions of "The Scream". Three of them are at different museums and one was kept by a private owner. The Norwegian Tomas Olsen bought the painting nr three in Sweden 1937 (nr one, two and four are at museums). Since then he has kept "The Scream" in his home. Only exception was during the WWII when he was forced to hide it in a barn when Hitler wanted to burn it.

Tomas Olsen's son - Petter Olsen - was the proud seller (and the Royal family of Qatar was the proud buyer):

As regards, the price evaluation since 1937, I think Olsen might had a positive outcome...

Normally, gold, paintings and collector cars are the most "safe" in terms of investments over a long time period.

Was it someone who told me that the ever last produced CSL Bat might be for sale again ...

Cheers
Henric

I'd hate to live in the same house as that painting. Talk about depressing. I do have a bid on those Dogs Playing Poker however.
