A while ago there were some discussions about CSL and sunroof. I think the conclusion was that, during the 70s, it was possible to order some special options to the CSLs (including options outside the official options list).
Officially there was the city package and different combinations with power steering, power windows, race quick locks for the hood etc. In addition, AC and power mirrors were also available options for the CSL. Mainly City pack and the special options were seen on the RHD CSLs. But there are some interesting exceptions.
There are at least three known LHD CSLs with BMW sunroof (one wothout city pack). Please also note the famous Uli Hoeness CSL (4355...) which was painted in a dark color (Schwarz?) and equipped from factory with special Race Rims, wider race style front wings and a special strips set. The Uli Hoeness "individual" CSL was presented in BMW Journal 1975.
Most likely, almost everything was possible to order for a CSL if you were willing to pay for it and/or of you were a celebrity. The colour on the CSLs is another "proof" for such "individual" exceptions" from factory. Officially there was a defined set of coulours for the CSLs, but there are CSL cars painted in other colours upon request from the customers. These CSL cars have colour code 98 or 99:
2210-221-2212xxx: 1 CSL with client request
2275xxx: 4 CSLs with client request
4355xxx: 6 CSLs with client request
A very interesting CSL is the RHD 2285198 (ex Victor Gauntlett car). This CSL has never been restored and is in a strict original condition as when it left the factory 1972/73. This car was ordered from the factory with CSi seats and BMW sunroof:

This car is a real CSL but equipped with some CSi features and you can clearly see the sunroof on the pictures. The car has also the black CSL roof headlining, which confirms that BMW actually tailor made CSL black roof headlining for the few CSLs with sunroof (I have seen the same type of CSL black roof headlining on a 2275xxx CSL with sunroof and thin gauge).
In the CSL sales prospect from 1974 is says that you can tailor made your CSL with different options and I think if someone wanted the creme-de-la-creme coupe from BMW during the 70s and also wanted to add a sun roof, most likely BMW or a BMW dealer simply arranged it for the customer.
Remember that during the mid-70s, it was really difficult to sell cars and specially the CSLs.
