Hi folks,

does anyone know the specific centrifugal advcance curve (with the vacuum disconnected) of the D-jet dizzy ...001 ? I looked in the factory blue book I have, but it puzzles me even more. In the table it says 30 +/- 2 deg but in the chart I read 20 +/- 2 deg, all in at 3,500 rpm respectively. Another fact is that the chart says cam degrees, all other figures in that section says crank degrees. (Since I have the german edition from '76, maybe someone with another one can check for deviations)

Given that the book says that the engine advance should be 22 deg at 2,500 rpm I assume that the chart is misleading... or does it rally give 20 cam degrees = 40 crank degrees all in? I suppose no....

Please chime in if you know more about this.

Cheers
A

I've got some older English Blue Books, I'll try to remember to check at lunch and see what they say. Stand by!

A. - In my blue book (english version) there are three 001 distributors noted. I think the one you are talking about is the 306 001? In the centrifugal advance curve charts x-axis RPM's are CAM rpms and not Crank rpms. Although, to me it does not seem to clarify the discrepancy you are describing.

Perhaps one of your charts takes into account the initial setting of the timing. If I have 10° initial and add 22° through the advance mechanism, I would have 32° advance. If you put the distributor on a distributor machine, you don't take into account the initial advance.
