Okay, I've found only one thread mentioning converting the D-Jet to L-Jet; the thread where the guy put in the 123Ignition. I am in the process of comprehending the differences and would really like to understand and hear feedback. I will keep all of the stock items, in case I ever HAVE to sell, but concerns about keeping it stock aren't what I'm after...
This is where I'm at: I bought a '73 euro 3.0csi and it's "dieseling" and idling a little rough. I also think it's running too hot, at least when driving around town... Just picked it up two days ago :), so only thirty miles have been put on it.
I'm very-very pleased, and am already enjoying the time in research, etc. My '99 MCoupe differential problems, and '87 635 mods just didn't feel like an investment -- just "lost time". Now that I've finally afforded what I've always "really" wanted, it's all good.
So, back to the fuel delivery system: I really liked the thread mentioned above and if D-Jet really doesn't provide the advantages of being able to program, and make "timing" more difficult, then I think an upgrade in this department wi what I'm after. I don't care how the triple webers look, or really care about anything but reliability. I'll jump in my MCoupe if I want to experience a rocket ship, right?
Anyway, if anyone has knowledge of a blog showing conversion to L-Jet, I'd sure appreciate it.
Bill
