I had bought a nice, used dashboard for my E9 and went to place it today and it was a bit of a shit show. Lots of tweaking but the bottom line is that the dash is slightly warped, both horizontal and vertical. I already snapped a clip off one end tryint to get it to fit right, super pissed actually. Right now I have it almost fit but with boards on it with weights to see if I can "fatigue" it square. Lots of padding under the boards so as to not create dents in the dash. Anyone else got pointers on this.

I'm not an expert, but I've seen what is inside these things.... Not sure how much foam and vinyl warp but the frame is metal and possibly bent? If the exterior is nice and soft maybe worth removing it and gently bending? As I type this I'm not sure I would have the courage to do it myself....
For what it's worth... I fixed cracks and re-wrapped mine in german vinyl and it turned out ok.

Well right now, I have walked away from this job. I will come back to it in a week or so. I know my limitations. We'll see what weights and warm weather will bring.

Chris, I hoped you learned that bit of info second hand, otherwise my anger from cracking a defrost conduit is not justified.
