dash light mystery

with my 1974 Australian delivered( manual ) car there is an "extra" small dash light hole between the Speedo and the tacho.. There is a wire with a small dash light size bulb , but nothing to hold it in the hole.. Another owner here in Brisbane also has a 1974 and it has the same hole , however his car has a plastic push in part that fits the hole.. We dont know what the light is connected to and cant seem to get it to light up ...Any ideas out there or experience with this??

ps.The picture( and description) in the manual makes no mention of this small light bulb

thanks guys , that sounds right , My car has a green button near the hazard light button it is a small cylindrical "bulb" , plastic (i think) I have seen one on this other car here in brisbane..I am missing the one in mine ... I would happily pay something if you happened to have a spare.. pretty please:

I mean the green "button" is under the dash near the hazard light.. on the right of the steering wheel (RH drive)
