Day Two, covered in grease

Day two finds our heroes having successfully gotten the automatic transmission out of the car. It was a bit of a pain, especially getting to the four bolts that hold the plate to the torque converter. There is only one position in which you can get to them (6 o'clock) and only a very low profile breaker bar with a 90 degree angle on it will work.

After laying in blue BMW coolant, automatic transmission oil and grease for three hours my shower was most welcome indeed.

Tomorrow we remove the engine.
 
Yhah, the auto trans oil is especially nice...The odor lingers..

Right up there with the stinky sludge that lives in the cylinder head bolt holes...
