How do i identify a CSL diff & whats the difference between it and a CSI diff?

There is no difference. You have a 3.25 LSD, congrats, very desirable.

I have 2 diffs with this externally mounted tube and filter house (similar in size to the fuel filter). Runs outside of the diff house. Tube out, filter, tube back in.

hi chris, how do you id the diff. i would like to find on mine but don't know what to look for. thanks

The S means LSD, the 12/39 means 39 divided by 12 equals 3.25. It is on passenger side of Diff.

So these would be non LSD's
- 3.25
- 3.46
Anything else the numbers tell you?

Correct. If LSD it is stamped and sometimes painted with a large white S.

Thanks, any other way of telling if it's an LSD. Any paint has worn/rusted off years ago.

There should always be a large stamped S I believe.

I have heard that automatics came with LSD diffs, is that true?
