Difficult to start

My car is rather difficult to start if I do not drive it for 2 weeks or more. If I then pour some gas directly into the carburators it will start. I guess that the gas in the tube "falls back". Any solutions what I can do to avoid the problem.

Check valve

Per,

Install a simple fuel check valve to prevent fuel from draining back. Beside a auto parts store you may find them at a marine store. Also go through your fuel lines and make certain the clamps are tight and the hoses are too. Seems to be more prevelant on the cloth covered fuel lines.

Had the same problem with my '74. Gas also tends to evaporate out of the float bowls and it takes some cranking to get them re-supplied. Don't know how to fix that problem. Lived with it until I converted to D-jet fuel injection. In the meantime, perhaps you could make out with your girlfriend and/or wife in the car every night and start it up for additional heat in the snowy, cold environs of Sweden...?
