Discussion on BAT CSi...VIN tag info

In case you are a potential buyer or an owner of a CSL, please be aware about the values a correct CSL VIN plate, in the engine bay, should have (stamped):

For the CSL in the VIN range 2275-2285-4355:

BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE A. G.
München
Typ BMW 3,0 CS
Fahrgest.Nr. 2275001 etc
Zul. Ges. Gew. kg. 1650
Zul. Achslast vorn kg. 820 hint. kg. 870
Made in Germany

Variations:
CSL cars sold new in Belgium have another VIN plate (in combined Dutch/French) including also a "PVA No" and "Max. gew. sleep/Poids max. rem. 3.050 kg"

For the CSL 2210-2211-2212:

The same as for the other CSLs except:
Zul. Ges. Gew. kg. 1750
Zul. Achslast vorn kg. 900 hint. kg. 900

Details that could be good to know when identifying a CSL (or as a subject for discussion at the next Sunday's family dinner)

Cheers

Henric

Well it says Belgium on the second tag. His other photo is of a repro tag with engraved digits.
