Do I need a new crank sprocket?

I’m replacing the timing chain and the cam sprocket, what is the opinion of the experts here, do I need to change the crank sprocket as well? It has some wear marks but the tops of gears still have the flat edge or are they too sharp?

Of course this means a tremendous amount of additional work, including removing the dreaded oil pan and somehow getting this sprocket off and a new one on while the engine is “in situ” as they say.

What is my fate?

The dreaded oil pan is no big deal for a wrench like you!
Look for yourself what a new gear looks like and decide for yourself.
Remember this gear gets plenty of oil.
There are tricks to remove and install
I would send you the special tool to install with if you want.

We will be pretty quiet in January on the board as 3 of us are heading to the mid-east for work. The shop will be open with the rest of staff-

Thanks very much for the offer, I will be in touch, that gear looks beefier than mine, is it for a later engine with single row chain? Mine looks sharper like this one from an online supplier:

I didn't mention in text yesterday that these can be a bitch to get off like Don is hinting to. Just saying. Go with what you got.
