I have a CSL type spoiler that the PO included. Just curious whether
this clears flat bed tow or whether one needs boards or ramps. The spoilers on my e24s just clear without ramps. Also my e9 is lowered slightly.

Any info from someone with spoiler and unfortunate need to be towed would be appreciated.

It's spring! Time for the coupe to emerge from its cocoon!

Because car ride hights, spoiler mountings and flat beds are all different I don't believe there is a one size fits all answer. Better to be prepared with some wood boards just in case. Also, to get a car on a flat bed a loading hook is attached to the front of the car (don't know if you've had a car flat bedded before). Do not!! hook that hook on the tow loop on the front of the suspension as the loop can become unattached from the car, often with upleasant results.
Hey Shannon, does Shawn have to remove the spoiler before putting his car on the trailer?

Not a bad idea taking it off just in case. No matter how robust they are an encounter with something like a steel towing bed will do some damage. Not hard to remove, just a few screws.

Hey there fellas

I'd suggest taking it off 'just in case' also.
I have a different air dam (Alpina) and I just take it off if the car is going on a unfamiliar trailer or a lift off any sort. I had some bad air dam luck at a muffler shop. Having the dams off will make it fit better on smaller trailers and increase the approach angles for lifts.

Shawn doesn't have to remove his dam for his enclosed trailer.

well, as they say...."if you have to ask".....take it off ;-)

On my CS if I remember correctly the spoiler sits "aproximately" 9 inches off the ground and clears a flatbed no problem...My 2002 which is lower than my coupe the spoiler is "about" 6.5inches off the ground and "barely " but does clear a flatbed as well.

I usually back onto the trailer which tilts and have no problem but like the guys say each scenario will be different and removal is fairly easy.
