Does the underneath of the car get clear coat as well as colour ?

Hi guys
When the shell is being painted does the underneath of the car and in around the wheel wells get clear coat on over the colour or not ?
I am in the process of finishing up spaying stone chip on the inner wings and I am just getting ready to spray the colour coats in there next.

If your paint is metallic I say yes just like the engine bay. Underside is grey undercoat here and very thin, no body color.

Thanks again for the advice Chris.
My undercoat will end up being thicker that the factory finish, our weather can be a bit of a mixed bag even during the summer and the roads aren’t always the best either, so I will be putting on plenty , just to give it a good chance of not getting damaged anytime soon. ( or ever hopefully )
