It will in the presence of water, and salt water would be even better :shock:
Its basically a system like anodes that they put on ships. The anode are usually a zinc alloy and this is more "reactive" than the steel, thus the anodes corrode rather than the hull. A chemistry/dissimilar metals thing
However on a ship most of the hull is immersed in water all the time! Not recommended for a coupe.
This system will not "cure" a rusty car.
On a restored/repaired car careful use of paint systems plus cavity and underbody waxes will do the same job
