Dome light fitment in a '74 sunroof coupe

I just have wires sticking out of my headliner.Is the headliner material cut out to accommodate the back of the light or is the light just pressed up against it? Does it screw into the roof sheet metal? Which way does the on off switch face,knob towards the sky or the ground? Thanks!

Headliner material is cut out and recessed. Remove just enough material so trim plate covers hole. Two longer screws toward windshield."about half inch''.Go into metal. Two smaller toward rear of car don't go into metal. Quarter inch long. Switch faces down toward floor. Some reason switch pushed to right dome and trim plate go on easy. Maybe just me? Mike
