I have a friend with a 1986 735ia. Generally speaking is that worth anything to an e9 owner?-no, it does not have a 5 speed, the engine has 110K, just thinking that my blue e9 is kind of tired with about 115/125 psi across all 6 cyl.

The car is free but would have to be transported.

Thoughts please-and thanks!
 
It's a b34 engine, the mounts will work; but I think a b35 would make you happier. Free is nice; but so is a little more power.
 
That's a very early E32. I thought mine was early, but this one more so. So what, if all you want is the motor, but the early ones had an additional pair of bushings on the front subframe, which worsened their already poor reputation for front end shakiness. It was a problem for E28's also, DAMHIK.

Look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M30 the euro M30B34 and world M30B35 have more torque and more HP than the USA version. Is yours a euro?

Next question is of course, what will be your fuel supply system?
