Does anyone know the best way to remove the chrome, exterior door trim. They are the chrome pieces that hold the exterior "squeegies" on the doors as well as the quarter windows. I want to have them rechromed. Do they "pop off"? or do you have to take the window assembly out to some screws?

Thank You,

Pat

Remove screws at ends, there are clips that lock them on the channel. Pry up to remove.

On the door ones there are no screws. Just pry off gently. I think they are chromed brass and quite soft.

Pat - the quarter window trims are attached to the body with copper rivets. The rubber and brush are in turn are attached to the chrome with similar rivets. A pain to drill out, but an even bigger pain to reattach as the rivets need to be low profile so as to not interfere with the glass travel. You will see once you get it out. This might be something you could send to Coupeking, or such, for reassembly?

good luck,
