Like a lot of Bavaria owners, I am cheap, I do not want to spend $400 for one door gasket. My driver's door gasket is worn and torn, has anybody come up with a cheaper solution to cut down on the door noise while driving and when I close the door also? Also are there alternatives to the under-hood gaskets that work well? thanks
Just did the under hood and trunk gaskets a few weeks ago. Here is a cheap alternative that I used and they work great.

If you can find E28 door seals, give them a whirl. I used them on all 4 doors, and you cant tell the difference.
For "only" $150 a door, It's pretty tempting; but would be great to know first how much modification was be needed...? Much cutting and glueing? If so, what glue?

@mosearch - did you try these gaskets? Wondering if you were successful in modifying them to fit the older models

I have not tried this yet. I'm not sure the seal on the door is my issue; seems that the felt-surfaced seal mounted on the door frame may be the weaker link.

I talked to at Mesa Performance about those seals. Says the PNs for the early 5 series will fit. Attached a pic with the PNs I wrote down. Last I looks you can get a complete set of 4 for under $100

No not from Mesa though I'm sure they have them though. Pop those PNs into eBay you'll see a couple sellers offering the complete sets of 4

Ahh. now i see. Nothing against the fine folks in Turkey, but I wonder how much of an adventure the duty would be?
Yeah I'm boycotting buying anything outside the US until this lovely tarrif situation is cleared up.

Maybe give Mesa a call, bet he is cheaper than that Turkey seller after you account for shipping and duties.

I tried the rubber cement stuff and it was terrible. Made a mess and never seem to keep anything stuck. I used 3M priming wipes and double sided tape... after cleaning the rubber cement stuff off multiple times. The primer wipe is key... the double sided tape solution has worked great and was way easier. It doesn't add any substantial thickness either.
