Door glass adjustment?

I am getting ready to replace the rubber window/glass 'seal' between the front and rear side glass. (we ALL know that can be a chore...!)

However, I noticed that there appears to be a large gap between the front side window and the rubber seal... (the pic shows two views with arrows pointing to the issue)

The passenger side is at least a 1/4" narrower than drivers side and makes a positive seal when that door is closed.

I do not think that the new seal is wide enough to make a tight seal.

The question is... what adjustment is available (inside the door) to 'tilt the glass inward to close the referenced gap? (FYI the door itself lines up perfectly with the body, but could the front wind-wing frame be adjusted too far inward, thus putting a bind on the whole window assembly?)

Any hlpe will be appreciated

can't answer the window issue, getting ready to attack that one myself. but i did replace the gasket that you have mentioned - it was a real PITA with the old chrome pieces - with new chrome pieces, the whole thing was done in 5 minutes with no finger pain. the aluminum wasn't that expensive.

when it is removed and reinstalled when a car is painted, it is hammered back on with a rubber mallet - which closes the slot that the gasket goes into - at least that was the case on my car.

Is there a similar thread to deQ's that doesn't use photobucket with a bunch of sign ups, offers, ads, user names, passwords, ad infinitum, ad nauseum?

I am trying to adjust my newly installed windows, ( I didn't take them out ), and it is proving to be challenging.

use the photobucket embeded fix and chrome and you will see my photos in full colour

You'll need to take a look at the door window rear rail. It is adjustable at both its top and bottom fixing (see DeQ's thread). Adjusting this will take the gap out between the side window seal and door glass

I have the mechanism in but have forgotten where the limit stop adjuster is and how to access it. I.e. front window.

I'll have a look at the embeded fix. I love / hate computers!

Thanks deQ. It works for Chrome but couldn't get it going in Firefox. Man that is an extensive thread and up to your usual very high standards - bravo!

With the front window mechanism installed am I able to access the limit stop adjuster? My window is stopping short of full height in the tracks and not meeting the door seal on the door frame.

The rear window adjuster is accessible and I have some success there including upgrading to the unit with a spring as well as the rubber stop.

Many, if not all of you, probably already know this but just in case another numb nut like myself searches for "Door window stop adjustment" here it is.

The top nut shown arrowed is for top limit adjustment, i.e. fully closed window position and the bottom is for -
