Door lock reversible ?

My string of bad luck continues.

The key lock that I have been anxiously waiting to install is for the PASSENGER door, and not the DRVERS SIDE DOOR, you know where it could be helpful.
I don't know where the other cylinder went, but it's been gone for the last 10 years or so.

Can the actuator/arm (whatever it's called) be flipped so it can be work on the driver side door?

Locks can be reversable, I am not sure on the E9 , but looking at the retaining clip which holds the arm that engauges the latch is a good sign, first you need to get clip off , then see if you can rotate the arm 180 , Good Luck

Hi

Lock internals are reversible, I repaired a lock and converted it from o/s to n/s about 2 years ago.

I made some notes at the time in case I needed to do it again. These were as follows, the last two lines are a probably relevant to what you are doing:

Metal covers on locks are all the same, but fit opposite ways on each side of lock
Springs for pins are all the same.
Pins vary in length and ends are round or pointed.
Some slots are blank (no pin). This seems to be one slot per lock.
There are 5 pins in a 6 pin lock.
Some of the divots in the keys are not used to actuate pins.
Door locks for n/s and o/s appear to be the same but spigot on end is the opposite way round.
To change lock from n/s to o/s or viz a viz, remove circlip and spigot and turn spring through 180 degrees and refit spigot the opposite way round.
