Door panel pockets

Hi all,
Were there any model that came without the pocket?
We have a 74 3.0CS that were confirmed by BMW archives being delivered to Iran.
It has no pockets that were a surprise to me.

I too have never seen door cards without the map pockets other than when installing new door cards and not adding the pockets (new cards come without pockets and no predrilled holes either) Maybe cards were replaced at some stage and pockets eliminated?

Maybe, but they look so original, down to it's staples.
I first thought maybe the 2.5CS didn't have them ( which I am not sure anyway), but this is a 3.0 according to its VIN and the archives.
