I am talking about the long thin pieces that sandwich the door gasket on the bottom of the threshold. Are they chrome, stainless or anodized? I need to clean mine before installing. Also, the retaining screws "recessed oval head sheet metal screw, ST3,5X6" list for $2.66 each! Any reason I can't use non-metric?

...they're stainless steel . If in reasonable shape, should polish up nicely. Sorry, can't help you on the screws other than to say I got mine as part of a larger order with W&N. Cheers, Simon

Is there such a thing as "metric" self tapping (sheet metal) screws? I would just go to HD or Lowe's and find the closest SS match, you may have to go a tiny bit wider than stock but the shape of the head will be the thing to match- IMO.

That's what I did, went to Lowes and bought SS screws for the rocker covers and interior door trim.

Yes! I found out the hard way with some of the door card and door pull screws. Imperial didn't fit right unless I sort of stripped them in. Also for the mounting screws for the trunk tool box (thanks again dQ!)

Sears hardware had metric ones last time I checked but Sears has been in a nose dive recently so you'll have to check. Otherwise try these guys
