I'm trying to change my guido and center bearing support. I had a heck of a time removing the bolts from the dif and trans but got them loose. I have also removed the muffler and the pipes to the Header Pipes. Now the manual says I should be able to bend the shaft and get it out, but it seems like the pipes directly attached to the exhaust manifold are in the way of the old guido. Do I need to remove the pipes from the exhaust manifold or should I keep trying to maneuver it out? Those pipes attached to the exhaust manifold look like a real pain to get to and remove. Would appreciate any feed back or suggestions. Thanks

leave the guibo attached to the output flange of the tranny and separate the driveshaft from the flange 1st. Then pull the guibo.

Is it just the bolts the attach the guido? I thought there was something else attached and I could not take it off. That seems much easier. Thanks

3 bolts attach shaft to the guibo and 3 for guibo to tranny, as Don says leave the guibo on and rotate the driveshaft so the U-joint "folds" as much towards the ground as possible and it should drop down enough from the tranny to be able to pull it out. Before separating the drive shaft mark each side so it goes back together in balance.
