I've checked Ebay and a few other places on the web and can't seem to find a place to get a hold of a beige Drivers side arm rest. I've found a lot of blue and black and red, but no beige. Anyone know anywhere I could obtain this piece? Some place I might be missing?

check with Werner at isettasrus.com in canton, ga. he did have some beige ones. reasonably priced too. he also has the chrome plastic cover plate as well as just the molded plastic top bracket. he also has some other e3 / e9 parts that he gets in Germany - packaged together when he is buying isetta resto parts. he's a good guy.

+2 If all else fails you can shoot an available blue or black armrest with a matching vinyl paint--believe SEM in camel is the correct color to match the stock tan interior parts. It works well and is very durable.

Possible Repair?

The other thing that may be possible that I've considered is trying to repair the arm-rest. It seems to have cleanly cracked and broken off the upper mounting bolt. It has done so in such a way that the plastic plate that connects to the armrest is in one piece attached to the door still, while the rest of that upper portion has become removed.

Is it possible to glue it back together? If so, what would you recommend I use?

Armrests

Is the small metal bracket still attached to the arm rest?

The usual break is the plastic bracket which is still available. The armrest is screwed to that bracket. In other words, the whole armrest is an assembly of parts so look closely.

Although not ideal, dying an armrest of another color successfully has been done. SEM products are frequently used and generally hold up well with proper prep.

fyi.

i think i paid $25 for a complete armrest (beige) from Werner - inclusive of the chrome plastic trim and the plastic mounting bracket.

here is an ebay auction from Werner for a beige mounting bracket - $15 for the pair.

i don't see the full arm rest or the chrome caps, but i would contact Werner as he probably has more. when i was there last summer, he had boxes of armrests in most colors but blue or black

peter & erik at coupeking have built a "better mousetrap" with regards to the armrests. they do this by reinforcing the area inside the door panel to which the upper armrest is attached. i had them do mine a few years ago after a passenger got too rough with it (btw, i'm no longer dating that girl).

and while i don't recall what it cost back then, i think it was well worth it since the repair has lasted long enough to put the price beyond the reach of my memory.
