as i'm changing both my E9's with relays for the lights i just wonder if i could change the bulbs in de low beams from 55W to 100W ? i found them very weak , so could this be done ? i don't have to deal with more amps trough the OEM wiring /switches as it is now with relays . Would they just be brighter or would that also change the light bundle so i could blind upcoming cars as if i was driving high beams ?

anybody done this ?

PS if i switch from high beam ( and the 4 x 100W extra lights ) to just low beams in rally , it's like i have no lights at all. Here also plays the difference and eyes must adept ? But regardless of that , the low beams are very weak compared to a modern car.....

me neither.
i keep the 55watts and for high beams i add the marchals to the stock ones, and the whole lot gives an acceptable ammount of light
but i dont do rallies, ...

yes, Steve, i have now a relay for the low beams. (I think the high beams were always OEM with a relay ? )
That will already give some more light ... i hope.
Perhaps i should try that and if not satisfied... try 100W bulbs.

i'm gonne need a good alternator.... :D

relayed low beams should be brighter so yes check that first. a high amp alternator is a must with all your lights. I have an 85 amp alternator for my 100 watt hi beams and 55 watt Marchal low beams and driving lights.
