e24 - 6 series seat belts

i saw a picture recently showing the front seatbelts for an e24 6 series ... and had the feeling that it might work on our coupes - especially a 2800cs that doesn't have the roof tab.

anybody that has an e24 - can you send me some pix of how it attaches to the car.

anybody with an e24 parts car - do you have complete sets and all the hardware that you want to part with?

Pretty sure it's doable with some modification. The reel mechanism and half the belt length are mounted inside the B-pillar and covered with an interior vinyl or leather cover that stretches from roof to car floor. The above head pivoting belt support piece is anchored to the B-pillar also.

e21 seat belts do look like e24 - one major difference - the reel mounts facing into the car rather than into the B pillar. the e21 belt is longer as it mounts higher up on the B pillar. the new e24 belt + reel is 40% less expensive. i also like how both mount to the floor - with the cover over the plate

what i would like to do is to mount the reel similar to the way Paul Cain mounted his. or the way the e30 belt was installed on a coupe (without the horizontal bar). the question is how to mount the top mount. my first thought was to use an angled bar (like the e30 325ic uses) or like the porsche boxster / cayman use.
