Interesting how special cars continue to appear! The guy explains that they were build in the UK, and thus different from the ones made by BMW; I thought they were all the same. Learning something every day...

indeed, so appeartly the black and white ones are made by BMW, and the English ones were build by a coachbuilder.
The one in the video is for sale...so someone here needs to go for it and keep us all entertained!

What happened in between a fourth version of the E3 Kombi reappeared. The car is very rough.
As mentioned in the YouTube video, vinyl covered roofs were popular in the 70’s. This custom built e3 estate’s vinyl was added more to cover visible build defects than for pure esthetics. Webasto style folding roof is a nice option.
