Just like on the e9, the tanks changed for MY 74 sedans from 75 to 79L and most likely mounted from underneath so it depends on the year of the e3.
Mounts from the top, not for sure of the year
Must 73 or earlier so would work in any pre-74 e3.

No, dang never did because he's getting his engine running again, and fixing the brakes hydraulics, and fixing the clutch hydraulics, and painting the engine compartment for some reason, and, and ... If it were local it would be in my garage right now.
