E3 Tail Light Inserts: DIY manufacturing info.

For anyone interested in fabricating the E3 tail light socket panel describe in the post: https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/e3-tail-light-inserts.49369/

Attached is the Bill of Materials, set up notes, and g-code used to make once complet set of tail light inserts in the above thread (right and left). The g-code files should be run in sequence according to the file names. The tooling info is in the header of the g-code. The two setup text files describe the stock size and set ups for both plate and socket parts. I use very conservative speeds and feeds. You could easily increase these values for a larger run.

Notes:

1. The *.nc g-code file extensions have a *.txt appended to them to permit uploading. Depending on your machine, you will need to remove the *.txt extension to load onto your machine.

2. I originally used Hysol epoxy to pot the wires and connector into place, but JB-weld works just as well. Note, I only used PPS for the socket because I had some on hand. It is ridiculously expensive. PVC and Delrin would work just as well.

3. While the aluminum plate can be used as the common ground, you still need to run a wire from at least one socket to the ground pin on the connector.
