E30 M3 - Pete McHenry Built S14

he is a member of the e30 m3 special interest group. give Mario at VSR a call ... he should know. i bet he may have done some wrenching on it or at the very least knows something about the seller and / or the car. Mario is one of the kings of the e30 m3 world. Greg LeVangie is the seller - he has owned it since 2009 and is selling due to a change in life ... retiring and moving

Thanks Scott.

To the best of his recollection, Mario says he has not worked on the car even though it has a VSR exhaust. He does know the owner Greg Levangie

i unfortunately deleted all the m3 SIG emails on this subject ... so i can't look at what others have said.

Greg put up his car for sale and then went out of the country per wife. Mario told me he is USAF. Nevertheless, that is incredibly frustrating to a car enthusiast! Especially since I actually have today and this weekend off to see it and do a PPI. Damn it!!!!

At least I don't think the f***ers from EAG are going to snap up this modfied one and add twenty thousand to the price and flip it. Ask me how I know!

Pete McHenry was an amazing guy

I knew Pete McHenry growing up in NC in the late 80's. He modded my 2002Tii engine into a 2202Tii by boring and stroking the engine up to 2.2Liters. Quite the hot-rod in its day. His work was impeccable. He would always amaze my teenage brain by rattling off BMW part numbers from memory.

While I don't know about this car it is my guess that this engine is strong and durable. I think Pete's youngest son works with Billy Revis at Motorsport Connections in W-S, NC: http://motorsport-connections.com/home. Either he, or Billy, may know more about the car.

I know the owner, Greg. Bought some parts off of him in the past and asked for his advice on things. Very nice guy - extremely fair. Knows a ton, has lots of rare bits. Cars are well cared for / loved.

His schedule is extremely uncertain. I know it took a few tries for me to connect with him on a set of wheels for my E30 as he has to take off and go whenever the USAF needs him to.

I'd just be patient. The car is worth it.
