E3's for Sale in the USA

I've been waiting for someone to ask about that. You know how some geniuses slap an M badge on their 320? The speculation is that, at some point, 3.0S owners in Europe wished they had a 3.0Si -- and that hole would be where the i was mounted. Good for another 20 hp.
Si or not, it's a beautiful car. GLWTA

That 20 extra hp is like the High-Speed-Battery Cables of my errant HotRod/Dragracing youth. Shaved a second off our quarter-mile time.

I believe this is @Yoda 's E3 on FB:

Was a two time BaT listing.
Sad to see how it end up.

'69 E3/2800 Series I in NY:
this 1969-e3-2800 belongs to M E…in westchester county…and has also in recent weeks since this ad was posted, has new fuel pump and few other mechanical parts AND will throw in for free those very rare rims in better shape (additional set not in pics of Ad)…Price NOT set in stone either..but can be driven home…very nice spirited driver…only real issues are Bodywork and was going to address those spots after mechanicals done BUT now forced to sell, just too busy nowadays…thnx @rblongboarder for posting this…..thomas in westchester county NY
Oh..
And this 2800 is very first year Model and its 18th built by bmw in its 1st year (where the previous 17 cars are, who knows ?!) so this is rather very rare and could be much more valuable in future years if someone continues Rescue Restoration process that i started / literally rescued and saved from the graveyard/crusher

Anyone out there interested in a real Test Drive of 74 bavaria (only 54k orig miles, new dual webers, too many other mechanical parts to list) or my rare 69e3-2800 4sp also new dual webers and a LOT of mechanical parts fixed ? If no serious-minded buyers emerge, may have to sell to someone outside of bmwcca/bmw sites Circles…priced very fair / cheap too…both can be driven home, no flatbeds needed

Nice!
I just did the same refresh my 1970 and I’m glad I did. Only difference is i was the guy sending/ saving car to /from the crusher.

It’s my first time driving a standard E3orE9. Completely different car than the auto.
Cheers
