I do believe that my E9 has E3 bumperettes. I just had them re-chromed and they just don't fit quite right. There is too large of gap between the bumper and bumperette to allow the rubber trim to stay in place. Does anyone out there have a set that they would be willing to part with?

Pat-

Are you sure they are the right side up? I have seen some where they are put on upside-down which causes a gap like you are describing.

Just struggled with this same issue. There are definitely two differently gapped bumperettes. The wider one does not fit bumper snuggly,it might also have a slightly different configuration of the cut out. On the chromed bumperette there is a little roundel stamped into the "face".When installing on bumper this should be at the top so when you look at it head on the roundel looks readable. The side cutouts of the overiders should be positioned so the more "squarish" opening is to the outside so it covers the rubber strip. The Bavaria versions are noticeably different. Thanks go out to Steve O'Neill for providing me with a tighter fittting piece!

No Luck

I tried to install my bumperettes in every way imaginable and they still have gaps between the bumper and bumperette. I never knew that there were 2 sizes for the E9. I have a pair that I just had re-chromed that I would
love to trade for a pair that are compatible with my bumper. Any re-chromable condition would be OK.

Hi Pat,

Please post some pictures so we can see what you have. Somebody here should be able to confirm if you have the right overriders (bumperettes).

I have had my front bumper on/off/apart so many times, I feel like I know every inch of it by heart.

Thanks,
Vince
