No affiliation, etc, but thought this worth sharing, perhaps it was posted here before with a different interior? Top and some other bits look E30 to my eyes:

Same outfit had an interesting CSL for sale a while back:

Nice rag top conversion ! not sure about the modern looking steering wheel choice though ? That CSL looks brand new ....

With a price tag to match.

It’s showing as sold. what does the GS mean in regards to this car?

Translation....
The BMW 3.0 CSL with the chassis no. 211721 was produced on December 10th, 1971 in the color golf. Immediately after its completion, this coupe came into the hands of GS Tuning (Gerhard Schneider) and was modified there. Forged pistons, 300 ° degrees sports camshaft, 45 DCOE Weber carburettors, sporty Bilstein suspension, as well as 205/70 VR 14 Dunlop tires were among others. the sporty ingredients of GS. With the issue 24 in 1972, the specialist newspaper Auto Motor und Sport organized an unprecedented comparison test. Five BMW 3.0 CSL vehicles prepared by different tuners were subjected to extensive tests. Famous names such as Koepchen, Schnitzer, Alpina and GS Gerhard Schneider were compared to the standard BMW 3.0 CSL. In this test, GS sent the CSL with the number 211721 into the race, meanwhile also optically adapted to the colors of the house GS. Registered by BMW AG under the number M-AH 1094 with vehicle registration number 47680833. Metallic white exterior paint, matt black interior, mostly black trim strips and special GS leather steering wheel. The Auto Motor und Sport editorial team found that this CSL behaved like a "bull in a tuxedo". A coherent and honorable title. 6.8 seconds from 0-100, 230 PS instead of 180 PS of the original carburetor CSL and the resulting top speed of 220 are very respectable.

This is one of the 5 (famous) Muskeltiere as mentioned above, a very well known test with 5 Csl tuners.....take a read

Mine was in the same graduation class... but didn't make the honor roll unfortunately. Heady times, you gotta love the way things were done during that period!

thank you. Love this and love the history of these cars.

I just read the translated article (link below) about the AMS test. If people have not read it, then they definitely should do!

The turbo cabriolet is the most stunning E9 out there, both the engine and soft top conversions have been done to the highest standards, and it looks simply epic. If I could survive without most of my vital organs, i would part with them in a heart best......hell I'd take them out myself!

I look at my 72 CS just sitting there, doing nothing for me and always think..." that would look stunning without the roof".

Lovely car Micheal, there’s something about a white car.

Thank you. I love Chamonix but I do like how the vinyl roof breaks up the colour.

strangely, and not through choice, every classic car I’ve owned has been white or a variant of white. So there must be something in that
