Not my car but local to me, looks like major rust problems to me. It's automatic which probally makes it less desireable. But Im just posting it for general thought's. I told a family member to steer clear of this one. Thoughts anyone? Its a 71 so its the first year of the 3.0, and auto I think around 124 that year and only 30-40 were auto.

e9 at gullwing

this car was on ct craigslist for 2500 before gullwing bought it. the owner was very honest and said it has been outside for like 20 years and has lots of rust. He admits that he neglected it and that it would need total a resto but felt it would be a better parts car and just wanted it out of his driveway. it is not a 7k car in my opnion, although the hack mechanics car sold for $7800 on ebay which was also extremely rusty but came with a very detailed description and pictures that showed all the issues but that car was really a parts car or heavy resto project as well so who knows what gullwing will get for it! Gullwing describes it as needing light resto but that is the understatement of the century.

I bought my first coupe from Gullwing- a real learning experience. They used the term "all original" very liberally as some sort of holy mantra, and yet it had non-stock patches and lipstick. This looks like a $1500 parts car. I'd be very careful.

Mine was similar when I bought it, except that the interior was OK. Mine also came with new fenders. Once you get the fenders off you will find out just how much restoration work really needs to be done. I paid $5,000 for mine 30 years ago.

I know them and have delt with them personally, they low ball and pick up there cars cheap and basically do nothing to them and flip them. You have to be real careful with them, once in a while they have a score. I wanted to look at the car for my dad since its automatic.

But I feel like automatic e9's are really not collectable, thoughts?

Thanks guys!
