E9 NOS Right Chrome Hood Grille Vent P/N 51 13 1 827 282

Hi guys. I have what appears to be a new old stock right chrome side hood grille vent, part number 51 13 1 827 282. I forgot that I had it. I believe it came with my 3.0CSi when I bought it 30 years ago. It was not in an original bag with an original part number; it was wrapped in old tissue paper and masking tape. But it looks to me like it is new and never used. I'd call it in flawless new condition, and I don't use that term lightly.

The part does still seem to be available. GetBMWParts says $215 list, discounted at $172. How about $160?

the question for Rob is ... is it all polished chrome or is it polished on the top surfaces with satin on the sides of the slats? what you can buy currently is all polished ...

I'm not sure I can answer that question. Here are additional photographs, both without and with flash, to help.

looks like satin sides ... which is the original way ... this is a great buy folks if you have a very original or concours car. the new ones are all polished chrome ... which looks great on a black car, but ...
