his comment about originality cracks me up though 'It's very original, but was resprayed about 20 years ago to a very high standard. The interior was refinished with Connolly leather around the same time. It's also been fitted with a 3.5 liter motor that once saw duty in Murray's 2800 CS, and that's backed by a BMW five-speed transmission—these cars were originally fitted with four-speeds. It's a very popular conversion, and even the purists understand its usefulness. The wheels are 16" items also sourced from a later BMW, and in conjunction with the five-speed they enhance and complement the car's capabilities.'
so, its very original except for:

Not trying to get E9ers upset on originality. I was interviewed and my emphasis was on that it was a dry bodied, rust free E9- not represented as an "original spec" E9, as I think we all know. That's exactly why the other specs are presented. I'll let the rest stand as presented, and hopefully others can just enjoy.

hi runner, i meant no offense with my comment - your car is beautiful, in my opinion better than orig. as you can see from pics attached, ive done all those same mods on my car, plus a bunch more. i was just pointing out the humor of how the question about originality was answered. my apology for not wording it more carefully.
