E9 Service Recommendations

Hi, I recently purchased a E9 and plan on doing the following to the car:

1) Install weber carbs
2) Automatic to 5 speed conversion
3) Suspension work

Can you all please provide recommendations for repair shops in Southern California? I was thinking about La Jolla Independent but the cost is very high. Any other great places to get work done at a lower cost?

can't speak to the cost ... but there is something to being said about being done right the first time from somebody who knows and understands what they are working on.

that being said, i'm sure there are a few choices. I'm sure Chris or some of the others can point you in the right direction ... but you might want to specify where in SOCAL you are as that could make a time difference
 
Thx for the feedback. I agree the work should be done right the first time around. I am in the LA area. I recently came across CSI Inc. Anyone work with them?
 
Chris, any reason to avoid CSi?

Yes. If you are in the witness protection program or something, at least narrow it down to the county.

When you say " Install weber carbs", are you planning on downdrafts or sidedrafts? Not that I disagree - my coupe has Weber DGV's - but what's wrong with the carbs you have now?

Agree with Chris and would also recommend Jeff if the OC is close enough- he is one of the good guys and also used to work with Carl and the team at LJI. Peter/CK has always been a great resource as well.
