Manuals

Even if you have the factory manuals ("blue books") you will still find the Haynes manual for the E3 sedans (2500, 2800, 3.0/S/Si, Bavaria) helpful for many mechanical repairs. While it does not cover the CS body or interior, basically all the mechanical parts are the same.

It is out of print, but you can occasionally find them on EBay or Amazon.

Hi!

At a BMW dealer you can buy "The repair manual BMW 2.5 CS - 3.0 CSL" on a CD. The CD is produced by BMW Mobile Tradition.

The topic of the repair manual cd has been tossed around many times before. It simply does not work on computers having more than 512k of ram memory.

Believe it or not your machine will give you an error message of "run time error-not enough memory" or something to that effect. There was a way to get around this issue with the old MS XP os by using the system configuration feature to limit your ram to 512k only but I've found this a major pita to deal with. Not sure, but it probably does not work on the newer Vista os. If you have an old computer with it's limited ram then you can dedicate this for the repair manual cd task.

Personally, I prefer my repair manual or any info source in book or manual form as you can access your exact info merely flipping to that section or page, this is what I call 'instant access'. Try to do this same task on your computer and see how long it takes including boot time.

From my experience with the repair manual cd, some info and pics have been omitted as compared to the original manual binders. This also happened with the MobileTraditions' parts catalog cd as complete sections were deleted such as most of the seat section in addtion to others.
