Has anyone built a cs shooting brake at all? I've seen conversions of rovers, rolls Royce, Aston Martin and many others. The only conversion of a cs I've seen is the spectacular and most wantable cs convertable, sooooo, has anyone seen or know of an E9 shooting brake or as the English say estate!

And yes, ........I'm thinking of doing it to my 72 cs.8-). In fact I'm 80% of the way to ordering the draftsman i know ( whos dad spend 22 years at jenson) to knock up a set of drawings.

This may be one of those times that I show my lack of intelligence.
MR BUMP , or others
I see from your location that we both speak English, although from differing sides of the pond.
But what exactly is a "shooting brake"?
Inquiring minds want to know.

A German shooting brake is old hat, they were called Panzers.

Two wagons I loved...1971 Plymouth Satellite with the 440 package. 2000 V70 XC Volvo, last of the good body style. Wild to mild...

I love shooting brakes too but I'm afraid the E9 will not look nice with such style conversion.
Buy a Lynx Eventer!

aston shooting brake

Here are some aston martin db5 shooting brakes that look kinda cool to me. I think it could work for an e9 with the right person creating it.

1971 DBS shooting brake

here is also a 1971 DBS shooting brake which is more like the body style of the e9. A cs shooting brake will work for sure. Just have to wear bavarian shooting gear to go with it

Why call it a "shooting brake" if you're not standing up through the roof shooting at something?

Simply admit "it's a station wagon made from a grand tourer" and be done with it. That puts a bit of light on what you're trying to make, and what you're making it from. Iin that way it more clearly frames the essential contradiction: reference the Jag hearse from Harold and Maude.

Autohaus Euler made a wagon from the early 7 series that seemed quite clean and well proportioned. Convertible coupes look fine too if the top is cleanly stowed. Convertible Bugs look like sh*t with the top crammed in full view over the engine. An E34 wagon is fine looking IMHO but a coupe doesn't need to be butchered that way.

There is an E30 touring on ebay that looks nice.
Attached is a photo of a hideous beast - just wrong.

That's right, jag called their xjs an eventer which sounds a lot better than shooting brake. The pic posted up of the black E9 looks a bit wired, the rear looks like a Jensen intercepter and the window aperture looks far too big, but its different. Still, its looking good.

The closest thing in my mind what a E9sb would look like is the Volvo P1800 estate, that's got some beautiful lines and is full of character.

Agree. And the 5-speed conversion is just adding the electrically controlled overdrive stage...
I confess I shopped for such a car more than once without knowing what to do with it.
Just like hoarding cats.
